Paella!!!

I made my own Paella last evening! I have to admit that it was a fair amount of work; especially as I had not read the recipe all the way through. I almost missed some very important ingredients and steps to the dish.

I just returned from an 11 day trip to Italy; and I am still jet lagging some. I know better than to not read the complete recipe. The dish would have taken way less time….. always lessons learned.

Despite all of this, my Paella was pretty incredible! Only because I used the pre packaged chicken paella stock that I purchased in Mercado Little Spain, the place that I reported in my last blog. I used Aneto Paella Chicken Stock, and Molino Rocca Bomba Rice. The chicken stock has saffron and paprika, two important ingredients needed in the broth.

I was quite pleasantly surprised how tasty this dish came out! Definitely to be made again!

As always, how amazingly crucial it is to use authentic ingredients if you can.

One of the many reasons that I love NYC is that you can find any ingredients, pretty much from anywhere in the world, that you may need! One just has to spend some time researching online….

Happy Paella everyone! This is a great dish that can serve lots of folks. I have heard about paella pans that can serve an entire community! Use your imagination……
