Heirloom Tomatoes

I made the most amazing heirloom tomato soup the other day. There is a Farmer’s Market that is available near me, on the weekends. They sell really good produce, and it is bountiful; as there are lots of farmers in the state of California. Everything that I purchase is fresh and tasty. In the middle of the winter; fresh, LOCALis a gift!

The manager of the market informed me that he goes to LA at 2am to get to the large market and then back to the Desert to set up and sell! More about the produce supply chain in another blog…..

I bought some heirloom tomatoes and roasted them with a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. FABULOUS! SUCH A TREAT TO EAT!

Well, the next thing you know, I am thinking about roasted tomato soup! The following week, this was created….AND IT WAS EXCELLENT!
