My latest Culinary Adventure…

CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES!

Culinary Adventures can come in all shapes, sizes and different forms…..

My latest Culinary Adventure was to take a Chocolate Truffle Class! It was SO FUN! I am just beginning to enter into the world of chocolate; and it is a whole different world from baking, to be sure….

The class was held at the establishment Roni-Sue’s Chocolates! This store has been open since 2007; and is located on the LES of Manhattan. Roni-Sue’s sells wonderful chocolates! Check out their website to see all the excellent different varieties of chocolate they create!

It has been a treat to learn this new skill. I have not perfected it at home as of yet, but I have managed to give homemade chocolate truffles as a gift twice already….. and they are MIGHTY TASTY…..

I used Jacque Torres 60% Dark Chocolate Disks and organic cream. For the coatings, I used different coatings of Callebaut mini-chocolate cripspearls, dark chocolate sprinkles, and crushed hazelnuts. You can be as creative as you want to coat these little gems….

Here is a photo of the chocolates that I made in class… used Callebaut 54% dark chocolate callets, heavy cream, and different coatings. I was pretty proud of myself!
